Notes for the MEETING OF THE
STRATHROY CARADOC YOUTH HOCKEY EXECUTIVE
HELD ON
TUESday, January 27, 2009 AT

GEMINI SPORTSPLEX 
 

Present: Milt Agate, Jennifer Baxter, Tara Bolton, Warren Jutzi, Heather Muldoon and David Stokes. 

  1. PIZZA PARTY

    There was a concern about how much the Pizza Party would cost and wondered if the money would be better spent on equipment.  The Executive looked at the monies available and decided that we will proceed with the Pizza Party.  We discussed a date and it was determined that March 21st from 11:00am -2:00pm in the auditorium would work perfectly and Heather will make all the arrangements.  For Group D we will bring the Pizza into their dressing rooms after their last game on March 20th. Jennifer Baxter will see about booking the Auditorium.   

  1. COACHES DAY

    The Executive decided that the coaches’ game would be a great idea to thank all the coaches for their hard work and dedication and that we have ice time credit from last year that we can use. 

  1. FINANCIALS

    Account Balance as of December 31, 2008:    $34,942.16

    Outstanding Expenses (Ice rental, Trophies etc.)  $25,620.00

    Remaining Balance (Carry over to 2009/2010 Season) $  9,322.16

    Please keep in mind that these are estimated numbers and that final numbers will be proved at the end of the 2008/2009 hockey season.  

  1. EQUIPMENT INVENTORY

It was mentioned that we need to do a complete inventory on all equipment for the league.  This will include jerseys, pucks, pylons and goalie equipment. We need to know if we need to update some of the jerseys or have them replaced.  If we need to replace some than we could always go back to the original sponsor and see if they will sponsor reordering them.  It was mentioned that we charge $600 for sponsorship.  The concern is that with the decline enrollment in Group A and the increase in Group B and Group D it makes it hard to know how many jersey we will need for the 2009/2010 season. 

  1. GROUP D

    It was brought to our attention that aggressive play has been escalating to the point of referee having to speak to coaches and convenor threatening to end a game.  I also believe that Dan and Heather were going to pop into each dressing room to talk with players and coaches.

  1. REGISTRATION DATE

    It was decided that the registration date for the 2009/2010 season will be June 19th and June 20th.  Jennifer Baxter will see about booking the Wescast room.  Since Group B and Group D filled so fast this year the Executive thought that we need to get as many individuals to registered a head of time.  We are going to give out blank registration forms to the coaches to hand out on February 28 with an newsletter attached letting the parents know that the sooner they get the registration forms into us the better chance of getting a spot for the 2009/2010 season.  The newsletter will also inform parents the early registrations must be in by April 30th with a posted dated cheque dated August 15th, 2009 to secure your child’s spot.   

  1. 2008 TAX RECEIPTS

    Steve will give the leftover receipts that were not given out at the picture day to the convenors and they will distribute them to the coaches to get to the families.   

  1. AMBULANCE RIDE

    One of the youth was hurt playing hockey and the parents were wondering if our insurance would cover the $50.00 cost for the ambulance.  It was decided that instead of going through insurance we will pay the bill out of our account.
